Shift Available:

  • Part-time position: 6am -6pm - Sat/Sun (12-hour shifts).
  • Can pick up extra shifts here and there with room for growth.


What You’ll Do:

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at K's Kare Home, you’ll play a key role in the daily lives of our residents, helping them reach their personal goals and live with dignity. You’ll provide hands-on support, build strong relationships, and contribute to an environment where both residents and staff can thrive.

Specific responsibilities including but not limited to:
  • Help residents with everyday tasks like bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
  • Medication assistance in accordance with Title 22 Section 85075.2, ensuring medications are taken as prescribed and stored securely, monitoring health, and ensuring a safe environment.
  • Immediate access to emergency medical care when necessary, as per Title 22 requirements.
  • Encourage residents to participate in community activities, outings, and events.
  • Assist residents in developing life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting.
  • Observe Individuals behaviors, documents medication administration and behavior, and advises supervisor immediately of any concerns.
  • Keep accurate records of daily activities, resident progress, and health updates.
  • Provides residents with three nutritious meals daily, prepared according to their dietary needs. 
  • Collaborate with your fellow DSPs, supervisors, and healthcare professionals to ensure residents receive the best possible care.
  • Participate in training and meetings as directed.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relations with all team members, including family members, guardians, fiduciaries, and advocates.


What We’re Looking For:

We’re searching for team members who are eager to grow with us, who are not afraid to take initiative, and who have a passion for helping others. We generally require one year experience but what matters most is your attitude and willingness to learn.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of Direct Support Professional experience is required but for a candidate that stands out, we are open to training them (Must have certifications requirements below).
  • 1 year experience working with developmentally disabled adults and/or human services/behavioral health field preferred.
  • Ability to meet licensing requirements for working with developmentally disabled/mentally populations or any equivalent. combination of directly related education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, perform standard First Aid, perform CPR, perform Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI), and observe person served rights.
  • State of California Community Care Licensing Fingerprint Clearance and Department of Justice.
  • High school diploma or GED required.


Certifications:

  • DSP 1.
  • CPI Training.
  • First Aid/ AED (can obtain this before start date).
  • DSP 2 will be required within the first year (training provided).
  • A valid California driver’s license and clean driving record are preferred.
  • Already registered with Guardian is a big plus!

Qualities:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
  • Physical ability to assist with mobility and lifting, as needed.
